Simon’s return to Martyrs’ Chicago

In Tour Diary by Kathy

Martyrs’ Chicago Mar 3 2013

Barely rested from the Boston gig the night before, Simon (and kathy v) boarded a plane to Chicago. Considering the amount of gear Simon was carrying, we got to and thru both airports rather painlessly. Once in Chicago we found ourselves at the greatest boutique-y hotel with the best cappuccino right next door. However there was little time to relax. Sound check time was nearing. When we arrived at the venue, it was good to see familiar faces outside already queuing – thank you so much for your support!

Martyr’s is a brilliant room – amazing sound, fantastic vibe, terrific people and a comfortable, calm & relatively quiet greenroom. It didn’t take long for Simon to be happy with the sound, so it was a quick bite and some much deserved rest before the show.

The Chicago crowd is incredibly supportive – a great turnout and super interaction all night. Simon was full of power and passion, and the crowd responded in kind.

And as usual Simon hung out afterwards with fans to sign CDs, photos, posters, bits of paper and pose for photos!

Later that night Simon was hard at work ironing out his choices for the HEART Tour set list. YOU try to pick *only* 8-9  songs to be played  – brutal!  Early the next morning is was another trip to the airport, this time headed for Los Angeles.
