Simon was looking forward to Roger Daltrey joining him for a few tunes in High Wycombe this weekend, but Roger is now unable to attend and sends apologies – HOWEVER he has committed to comint to Shoreham- 29 Feb to do a few songs!

Also Bruce Foxton and Mark Brzezicki have committed to coming along to the Ruislip gig - 17 Mar where they will do a mini Casbah Club reunion!

Still tickets left for Shoreham and Ruislip – but don’t wait too long – They are going fast!

The Sheffield Telegraph posted an article online (21 Feb 2012) about Simon’s new album and the Greystones appearance.

“His songs come from ideas or emotions he has. ‘That often comes in tandem with a melody and they tend to be the best songs. Some of the best material is written in a snap shot’ …”

 [unfortunately it promotes the Greystones gig as upcoming, when it actually had taken place on Sunday the 19th!].

Simon made a personal appearance at the Okeh Cafe in Sheffield this afternoon at 1pm where he played a few tunes and signed autographs for the crowd.

 

Feb 19 2012 – Greystones – Sheffield

A fantastic night for audience and band!

Simon posted on Facebook:

“That could be the best gig I’ve ever done tonight. EVER!. Greystones in Sheffield. Fab sound and more importantly, fab feeling. I am learning and improving. I guess, having spent so much time with the pros I think I’m finally getting it. The answer is not to try too hard and not to give a shit if there are technical problems. A good feeling on stage transcends thru to the audience. It wasn’t packe…d out today – only 3/4 full but we had an amazing feeling between us. Have to say a big, big thanks to my fellow musicians, Phil Spalding, Tony Lowe and Greg Pringle whom without I wouldn’t be on this cloud. They are all exceptional players and diamond geezers. Special thanks to Shaun Walker for making it happen and Mark my guitar man for getting me in tune. Can’t wait for next week now… Bedford, Poole and High Wycombe here we come.” – Si

Feb 17 2012 – O2 Academy – Newcastle

The band rolled in to Newcastle for their second gig.

The local scooterists turned out pre-gig on their scooters in the rain and cold to support the band – THANK YOU!!

A big thanks also goes out to the support bands for their great sets and special mentions for the guys from “Modern Works” who no only played a blinding set, but helped us load gear ti the van at the end!

Bucks Free Press – Freetime ran a nice article (2012-Feb 11) about Simon Townshend’s return to The Nags Head in High Wycombe.

In it he talks about the new album Looking Out Looking In, the tour, past projects and past gigs played at the venue.

“One memory I have is the place flooding when we were playing. The power went and we had to stop. It was like a monsoon outside and water was flooding in and onto the stage. We got washed out, it was unbelievable.”
