Roger on the mend.

Firstly, I have to say I spoke with Roger today and although he has really been through it lately he sounds like he may have turned a corner and is finally on the road to recovery. Thank you to all the fans who have been in touch today and over the past few weeks wishing him well and for the understanding re the postponement of The Who’s US tour, despite your obvious disappointment. Believe me, no one is more upset than the band themselves particularly Roger. Today he said, “We are very sorry to disappoint our fans in this way. For the last four weeks, I have been in and out of hospital and have been diagnosed with viral Meningitis. I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better but I am going to need a considerable time to recover. The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery but that I should not do any touring this year.”

My brother Pete fully supports him and added, “We are rescheduling all the shows for next Spring 2016. We apologize to all our fans who have supported us in the last 50 years. Once Roger is completely well we will come back stronger than ever and Roger and I will give you all a show to remember.”

With regard to my own ST solo shows, I am very much looking forward to playing these and will do everything I can to go ahead with them in the light of today’s announcement. Myself, Lisa Climie, Bob Kowalski and Kathy Van Tassell (the ST team) are already working on the logistics involved to achieve this, not least finding out which side of the Atlantic my guitars are currently. I will keep the updates and news about the shows coming over the next few days. Stay tuned….
