Simon’s role in Quadrophenia tour from Pete’s perspective …

Since the last of the Quadrophenia & More Euro tour happens July 8th in Wembley, thought it fitting to post this for those who may have missed it originally.

Over at earlier this June a great post went up titled “Simon Townshend – Inside and Outside of Quadrophenia” encouraging newcomers to Simon’s own music to check him out at his gigs taking place between Who dates.

It also contained a wonderful quote from Pete:

“My brother Simon knew he wanted to be a musician from infancy”, says Pete Townshend. “He was a Who fan from 8 years old. Now he spends a lot of his performing life with The Who or with Roger when he does solo shows. Si has been in the Quadrophenia lineup since its first revival in 1996. Flesh and blood and the only member of the band that both Roger and I call a brother, his contribution to Quadrophenia in concert and his special role singing DIRTY JOBS gives him a unique view of the entire project. He met his wife Janie when she modelled as a Mod girl in the Who’s 1973 album booklet. Despite his own amazing career, a wonderful songwriter, and great guitarist, with The Who in Quadrophenia, Simon has become the 5th Jimmy.“  – Pete Townshend
